GetEQUAL Digital Organizing Manager

DEADLINE: Monday, November 13th, 2017!

Since our launch in 2010, GetEQUAL has been disrupting and challenging the LGBTQ movement. Proudly occupying the “left flank” of the LGBTQ movement in our political analysis, and actively utilizing direct action and nonviolent civil disobedience when needed to actualize that analysis, GetEQUAL is working to align, amplify, and support the struggle and movement for LGBTQ liberation. While there has undoubtedly been progress in both political and policy realms over the past 10 years, the vast majority of LGBTQ people -- especially LGBTQ people of color, trans* folks, and LGBTQ people living in rural areas -- have struggled to benefit from many of those wins due to the structural oppression caused by white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy that the DC-centered branch of the LGBTQ movement not only keeps in place, but benefits from.

It is in this moment that GetEQUAL is searching for a new communications in our work to continue the call for queer and trans liberation -- not decades from now, but right now.

If you join the team, you’ll be working closely with GetEQUAL’s leadership and partners to help usher the organization and the liberation movement into a new phase of its evolution. The position itself is flexible.
